Schiphol launches five tenders for airport renewal work

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has launched five major tenders to appoint long-term construction and maintenance partners for renewal work across the airport in the Netherlands. The framework contracts are due to start in 2028 and run for nine years, covering maintenance, replacement and project work on terminals, technical installations, aprons and operational buildings.

The programme is part of Schiphol’s wider modernisation drive, aimed at improving reliability, capacity and the travel experience while also addressing overdue maintenance. Schiphol plans to invest €10 billion between 2025 and 2035 in renewal and quality improvements, with the new contract model designed to support closer cooperation with market partners and more efficient delivery of works.

Items included in the scope range from concrete aprons and passenger bridges to gate power and pre-conditioned air systems, charging infrastructure for electric equipment, technical rooms, retail units, climate control systems and fire stations. A large part of the current contracts expires in 2028, which explains the timing of the tenders.
