Biman orders 11 more Boeing jets to lift 2026 total to 25

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has placed an order for 11 additional Boeing aircraft, expanding its 2026 commitment to the American planemaker to 25 jets. The deal covers five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8s, and was tied to an event in New York during the UN General Assembly period.

The new purchase builds on Biman’s earlier order for 14 Boeing aircraft in April, taking the carrier’s planned Boeing additions into a larger fleet-renewal programme. Boeing said the 737-8 will extend the airline’s single-aisle range, while the 787-10 will add higher capacity alongside Biman’s existing 787-9 and 787-8 aircraft.

The agreement also carries wider policy significance for Bangladesh as it works to deepen trade ties with the United States and manage tariff pressure on exports. Commercial terms for the latest order were not disclosed in the public reporting at the time of the announcement.
