KLM will launch its first Airbus A350 passenger service on Amsterdam–Toronto, with five of the route’s 12 weekly frequencies operated by the new aircraft. The Dutch carrier’s winter schedule also puts the A350 on Montreal, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Nairobi as more jets join the fleet later this winter.
The first commercial A350 flight has been pushed to 30 October 2026, giving KLM a clear start date for the type’s entry into service. The aircraft forms part of the airline’s broader fleet renewal and the gradual withdrawal of the Airbus A330-200.
Toronto is the initial long-haul showcase for the new type before the programme broadens across KLM’s intercontinental network. The planned deployment reflects a phased roll-out rather than an immediate fleet-wide change, with the A350 assigned to a mix of Canadian and East African routes as deliveries continue.
