Piaggio Marks Avanti’s Ruby Anniversary, 40+ Evo Sales

Piaggio Aerospace is marking 40 years since the first flight of its P.180 Avanti while highlighting sales of more than 40 Avanti EVO aircraft since the first customer delivery in 2015. The latest commercial step is the sale of two Avanti EVOs to a Turkish operator, strengthening the model’s presence in Turkey.

The Italian OEM, now owned by Baykar, positioned the anniversary as a dual milestone for the Avanti programme, pairing the type’s longevity with continuing demand for the EVO variant. The aircraft were sold to an undisclosed operator in Turkey, with the company indicating they will join an existing business jet and helicopter fleet.

The P.180 first flew in September 1986, giving the programme a four-decade run in a niche corner of the business-aviation market. Piaggio has used the latest order to underline the Avanti EVO’s continued commercial relevance in export markets, where the twin-turboprop remains available in a compact, high-speed business-aircraft segment.
