Wizz Air and Ryanair resume Jordan routes as low-cost links return to Amman

Wizz Air has resumed flights from Budapest to Amman, bringing its first service back to Queen Alia International Airport on Tuesday with 166 passengers on board. The airline plans three weekly flights year-round, while Ryanair is set to follow at the end of October as European low-cost carriers restart services to Jordan.

The return of the routes comes after Jordan’s aviation regulator linked the decision to improved conditions and the lifting of the EASA conflict-zone recommendation against flying to the country. The resumption restores capacity for inbound travel and rebuilds direct air links between Jordan and Europe after both carriers suspended services for several months.

The Budapest–Amman service adds a key low-cost connection into the Jordanian market, with Queen Alia International Airport handling the restart. Ryanair’s planned return is expected to connect Jordan with four European destinations, extending the broader rebound in Middle East schedules among budget airlines.
