Safran opens expanded Singapore landing gear MRO centre

Safran Landing Systems has opened the expanded Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul centre at its Singapore site after a US$22 million investment supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board. The 7,500-square-metre extension adds a new landing gear assembly line and lifts capacity for airlines in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

The upgraded facility provides end-to-end MRO services, covering disassembly, inspection, machining, surface treatment, assembly and final certification. Safran’s Singapore operation now employs 360 people, and the expansion is expected to create nearly 100 additional jobs by 2030.

The site’s new building includes 2,800 square metres of solar panels expected to supply about 60% of its electricity needs. The inauguration in Singapore brought together French ambassador Stephen Marchisio and senior EDB leadership, reflecting the site’s role in Safran’s regional support network.
