Safran has launched a new share buyback tranche worth up to €375 million, covering the period from 21 September until no later than 27 November, as part of its wider programme to cancel repurchased stock. The French aerospace and defence group linked the operation to shareholder authorisation granted in May and to a broader €5 billion buyback plan running through 2028.
The tranche is being executed through an investment services provider and sits within capital allocation plans aimed at returning cash to shareholders while reducing the share count. Market coverage indicated that part of the overall programme had already been completed before this latest tranche was put in place.
Safran’s portfolio spans aircraft propulsion and equipment businesses, making the buyback relevant to investors tracking cash deployment in the aerospace sector. The company has not indicated any change to its broader programme, and the latest tranche follows the terms set out under the existing authorisation.
