Singapore Airlines retakes Skytrax top spot for 2026

Singapore Airlines has been named the World’s Best Airline for 2026 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in London, regaining the industry’s top ranking after Qatar Airways won in 2025. The carrier collected the overall title for the sixth time, alongside awards for World’s Best Economy Class, World’s Best Economy Class Onboard Catering and Best Airline in Asia.

Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary, was also recognised as the World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline for the sixth consecutive year. Skytrax based the results on a survey of more than 24.8 million travellers covering over 300 airlines, with voting carried out from September 2025 to August 2026.

Qatar Airways finished second in the 2026 overall ranking, with Cathay Pacific in third place. The outcome restores Singapore Airlines to the top of the global quality table after last year’s change in leadership and extends Scoot’s run in the long-haul low-cost category.
