TUI taps ex-easyJet chief Johan Lundgren for supervisory board chair

TUI has chosen Johan Lundgren, the former easyJet chief executive, to become chair of its supervisory board after the annual general meeting in February 2027. Current chair Dieter Zetsche, formerly chief executive of Daimler and Mercedes-Benz, will step down when his term ends, while the board’s shareholder and employee representatives unanimously backed Lundgren as his successor.

Lundgren has served on TUI’s supervisory board since 2025 and previously worked for the group until 2015. He later led easyJet from 2017 until the end of 2024, giving him experience in both aviation and tourism at a time when TUI continues to navigate a competitive European travel market.

The change is scheduled as part of the company’s normal governance cycle rather than an immediate operational transition. The supervisory board chair plays a central role in strategic oversight, and the succession keeps the leadership handover within the board structure already in place.
