Lufthansa has unveiled a new Trachtencrew outfit for its Oktoberfest 2026 flights from Munich, with the first services in the revised Bavarian dress due to operate on routes to Bengaluru and Beijing on 19 September. A further Trachtenflug to Singapore follows on 27 September, while the airline is also broadening Oktoberfest-themed catering and lounge service across its German network.
The new collection was designed by Lower Bavarian traditional costume maker Spieth & Wensky and combines Bavarian tradition with Lufthansa branding for the first time. The airline’s crane appears on the buttons of the knitted jackets, while its wing pattern has been woven into the skirt and vest fabrics. Lufthansa has run Trachtenflüge for 20 years, beginning with a Munich-New York service on 1 September 2006.
Beyond the crew uniforms, Lufthansa is extending Oktoberfest service from 1 to 30 September with Bavarian dishes on selected intercontinental flights from Munich and Frankfurt. From 17 September to 6 October, Business Class on continental flights will feature an Oktoberfest menu, while lounges in Germany will serve Bavarian beers, classic dishes and festival decorations. Long-haul travellers in First, Business and Premium Economy can also receive new Wiesn amenity kits in felt pouches.
