Farnborough Airport opens recruitment for third local operations trainee intake

Farnborough Airport has opened recruitment for its third cohort of local operations trainees, with the six-week programme due to run from 3 November to 15 December at Farnborough College of Technology. The course is open to adults aged 21 and over and combines classroom learning with two Airport Insights days at the airport, covering airport operations, security, customer service, ground handling, health and safety, rescue and firefighting, and air traffic control.

Training will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and is designed to lead to a certificate in airport operations. Instruction comes from airport subject matter experts alongside college tutors, with the structure moving from an introduction to the airport industry to practical sessions in selected specialist areas.

The programme forms part of Farnborough Airport’s effort to develop local aviation talent and create entry routes into airport careers. The latest intake extends a workforce pipeline aimed at operational roles relevant to business aviation, including airside services and safety-related functions.
