Universal Aviation adds hangar space at San José airport through GAT SJO partnership

Universal Aviation has begun offering hangar space at Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José, Costa Rica, through a partnership with GAT SJO, the operator of the airport’s general aviation infrastructure. The arrangement expands the company’s service offering at Costa Rica’s main airport and gives business aviation users access to protected aircraft parking alongside ground handling support.

The new capability is aimed at operators needing hangar availability in a market where secure storage can be limited. By working with GAT SJO rather than establishing a separate standalone facility, Universal Aviation is extending its footprint at the airport through existing general aviation infrastructure. The move adds a practical option for visiting aircraft and locally based operations using the country’s primary business aviation gateway.

Juan Santamaría International Airport handles the main flow of business aviation traffic into the capital region, making hangar access a commercially relevant addition for charter flights, corporate aircraft and transient operators. The service is now part of Universal Aviation’s Costa Rica operation and broadens the handling choices available at San José.
