RTX will promote Jill Albertelli to president of Pratt & Whitney on 1 January 2027, placing the head of the military engines business in charge of the engine maker’s commercial and defence operations. Current president Shane Eddy will remain with the company through March 2027 as a special adviser during the transition, as Pratt & Whitney manages leadership continuity from its East Hartford, Connecticut base.
Albertelli has led Pratt & Whitney Military Engines since December 2021 and will succeed Eddy after his retirement. The handover comes as Pratt & Whitney continues work on major propulsion programmes, including the F135 engine for the F-35, and keeps the leadership change aligned with ongoing commercial and defence priorities.
RTX’s move points to an orderly transition rather than an abrupt change at one of the world’s major aero-engine manufacturers. Albertelli’s appointment brings continuity from the military engines division into the top role, while Eddy’s advisory period is designed to support a smooth transfer of responsibilities through the first quarter of 2027.
