Breeze Airways has retired its last Embraer E190, ending the carrier’s first-generation E-Jet era and leaving scheduled operations to the Airbus A220-300 alone. The final aircraft, registered N120BZ, exited the fleet in early September, with the transition completed as Breeze moved to a single-type narrowbody operation built around the A220.
The airline launched in 2021 with 10 Embraer 190s and three Embraer 195s, using the type to establish its network before the first A220-300 entered service in December 2021. The Embraers were central to the start-up phase, but the fleet has since been pared back as Breeze standardised around Airbus aircraft.
Fleet simplification is expected to support maintenance, crew training and planning across the network, where the A220-300 now handles all scheduled flights. The airline publicly marked the retirement on 10 September, after the last E190 left service on 7 September.
