The U.S. Air Force has widened Boeing’s KC-46A foreign military sales framework, lifting the contract ceiling from $5.7 billion to $19.1 billion and extending work through 28 April 2035. The modification covers Japan and Israel and leaves room for additional allied customers seeking long-range aerial refuelling support, while no funds were obligated at the time of award.
The change does not place a new aircraft order. Instead, it expands the existing contracting structure around the KC-46A Pegasus, giving the Air Force more capacity to process future foreign demand without opening a separate procurement action for each customer.
Work is centred in Seattle, where Boeing supports the tanker programme’s foreign sales activity. The broader ceiling provides long-term contracting headroom for allied refuelling requirements, with Japan and Israel already named and further partner countries possible later.
