Fraport Brasil has taken over operations at Jericoacoara Airport in northeastern Brazil, adding the leisure-focused airport to its existing Fortaleza concession and expanding Fraport’s Brazilian portfolio to three airports. The concession runs until 2047 and covers the passenger terminal as well as landside and airside infrastructure, including retail and parking areas. The airport was brought into the group’s network through Brazil’s AmpliAR programme.
Jericoacoara is a key access point for one of Brazil’s best-known tourism regions, where demand is driven by domestic and international leisure traffic. Fraport has committed to modernisation investment over the next three years, although the exact amount has not been disclosed. The addition extends the operator’s footprint beyond Fortaleza and deepens its position in the country’s airport market. The new structure links the regional airport to Fraport’s existing concession framework in Ceará, giving the operator control of both airports under a single long-term arrangement.
