Air Algérie drops planned Delhi service before launch

Air Algérie has removed its planned Algiers-Delhi service from its schedule, shelving a route that had been due to begin with Airbus A330-900 aircraft. The long-haul link was set to operate three times a week from 25 October, but it never opened for booking and is no longer showing in the airline’s timetable.

The route first appeared in schedule data at the end of June, when the carrier planned departures from Algiers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with return flights from Delhi on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. No explanation has been provided for the removal, leaving the move best described as a schedule withdrawal rather than an operational cancellation after sales had opened. The planned Delhi service would have added a new India connection from Algeria’s capital at the start of the northern winter season.
