Zurich Airport handled 3,326,119 passengers in August 2026, up 1.8% from a year earlier, as transfer traffic strengthened and flight activity also increased. Local passengers edged higher, while the airport’s transfer share climbed to 30.6% in the late-summer travel period.
Local passengers totalled 2,303,777 in the month, while transfer passengers reached 1,016,420, an increase of 4.9% year on year. Flight movements rose 2.9% to 26,009, indicating firmer operating activity at Switzerland’s largest airport. The monthly figures point to continued growth in hub traffic, with transfer volumes contributing more to overall demand than in August 2025.
