Avianca will refresh its INSIGNIA long-haul business class on Boeing 787 aircraft with new private suites from Collins Aerospace and Panasonic Avionics’ Astrova 4K OLED entertainment system. The rollout is due to start in 2027 and will cover the carrier’s 787 services on Europe and New York routes.
The new cabin will introduce sliding-door suites with fully lie-flat beds, larger 4K screens and Bluetooth audio, while Meridian noise-cancelling headphones, new pajamas and updated amenity kits will form part of the broader premium package. Avianca is pairing the onboard changes with a refreshed dining offer and a dedicated INSIGNIA check-in area at Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport.
The airline is also building out its premium long-haul offering as it looks to strengthen its position on transatlantic and US east coast services. The 787 programme sits alongside Avianca’s gradual Wi-Fi rollout across its Dreamliner fleet, while the first retrofit aircraft is expected to enter service in 2027.
