Shenzhen Airlines will begin its first Sydney service on 14 December 2026, opening a four-times-weekly route between Shenzhen and Sydney with Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The new link is Shenzhen Airlines’ second destination in Australia and its first operation to Sydney, expanding the carrier’s China–Australia network.
Sydney Airport described the move as a further boost to its China capacity, with Shenzhen Airlines becoming its 10th Chinese carrier and lifting the airport’s airline count to a record 55. The route is expected to add about 130,000 seats a year and carry around 100,000 passengers annually.
The schedule is set around overnight departures from Shenzhen and afternoon arrivals in Sydney, with the return sector operating late at night from Sydney. The new service increases competition on the Sydney–Shenzhen market as China–Australia capacity continues to rebuild, including other routes that are still working back toward full restoration.
