Shenzhen Airlines to launch four-weekly Shenzhen–Sydney service in December

Sydney Airport will gain a new Shenzhen Airlines link from 14 December, when the carrier starts four-times-weekly services between Shenzhen and Sydney using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The route will be Shenzhen Airlines’ first scheduled service to Sydney and will bring the airport’s Chinese carrier count to 10, lifting its total airline count to a record 55.

The new operation adds about 130,000 seats a year and is expected to carry roughly 100,000 passengers annually. Flight numbers ZH815 and ZH816 are set to operate on four weekly days, with departures from Shenzhen at 00:20 and returns from Sydney at 22:30.

The service extends Sydney Airport’s China network and gives New South Wales another direct link to southern China. It also expands capacity on one of the busiest Australia–China travel markets, with the long-haul schedule timed for overnight eastbound travel and late-evening westbound departures.
