Iranian missile strike damages U.S. aircraft at Jordan base

An Iranian missile strike damaged multiple parked U.S. military aircraft at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, including an A-10 Thunderbolt II that reportedly lost a wing and about eight F-15s with lighter damage. The incident hit the U.S. air base, also known as MSAB, during a wider escalation between Tehran and Washington, but no U.S. fatalities were reported.

Damage was described as ranging from severe on the A-10 to repairable on the F-15E Strike Eagles, which were later assessed as serviceable or returned to service after inspection. People familiar with the matter confirmed that multiple warplanes were affected, while the exact mix of missile impact and debris damage was not fully clear.

The strike came after earlier U.S. actions against Iranian tankers and a subsequent Iranian missile response. The reports did not include a formal Pentagon confirmation, and the extent of the damage appears limited to aircraft parked on the ground rather than losses in flight.
