Airbus and Boeing both finished August with deliveries ahead of their pace from the same point in 2025, after the two planemakers reported fresh monthly data on Monday. Airbus delivered 57 aircraft in August, taking its 2026 total to 475, while Boeing handed over 51 jets and reached 418 deliveries for the year. Airbus also booked 67 gross orders in the month, led by a Shenzhen Airlines deal for 40 A321neos and an Air China order for 15 A350-900s.
Boeing recorded 15 gross orders in August, all for unidentified customers, including 13 787s and two 737 MAXs. The monthly delivery tally was lower than in some earlier months for both manufacturers, with Airbus slowed by weaker activity and ongoing A330neo quality issues, while Boeing’s August total was affected by fewer 787 handovers. Even so, Airbus remained ahead of Boeing year to date, extending a lead built over the first eight months of the year.
