PAL-V has secured European Production Organisation Approval from EASA, clearing the Dutch fly-drive developer to manufacture aviation products under EU rules at industrial scale. The approval covers the PAL-V Liberty programme and completes the production-side authorisations the company needs alongside its automotive manufacturing status, while flight certification for the vehicle itself remains pending.
The Raamdonksveer-based company describes itself as the first in the FlyDrive segment of advanced air mobility to obtain the approval. It has also cited an order book large enough to cover roughly three years of planned production, suggesting demand is in place before deliveries can begin.
The milestone follows an earlier EASA “No Technical Objection” in 2025, but the aircraft still requires final certification before it can enter commercial service. Media coverage in the Netherlands and elsewhere indicated the company is targeting market availability around 2028, once the remaining airworthiness steps are completed.
