Czech police inspect nine aircraft after renewed bomb threats at Prague Airport

Czech police were inspecting nine aircraft at Václav Havel Airport in Prague on Friday after renewed bomb threats targeted commercial flights. The warnings concerned four arriving and five departing services; all nine aircraft were on the ground while checks were under way. Airport spokeswoman Denisa Hejtmánková confirmed the number of affected flights, while police said security measures were expected to have only a limited effect on normal operations.

The threats followed warnings on Thursday against four Prague-bound aircraft and airport facilities. Checks carried out after those alerts found no explosives or other dangerous objects. Results of Friday’s inspections had not been reported at the time of publication, and the affected airlines and flight numbers were not identified.

The alerts came amid a wider wave of bomb threats affecting commercial flights in Europe. Prague Airport and police did not report a device found in connection with Friday’s warnings.
