Finnair to launch new mobile app in November

Finnair will begin rolling out a new mobile application in early November, with availability for all customers targeted by the end of the month. The app is intended to improve the airline’s digital customer journey, simplify purchases and support additional ancillary sales, rather than introduce a change to Finnair’s routes, fleet or operations.

The application was presented alongside Finnair’s third-quarter 2026 results. The airline has not disclosed detailed information on its functions, language support, launch markets, operating-system availability or whether it will replace the existing app.

Finnair links the project to its broader commercial strategy. Modern sales channels accounted for 75.2% of sales in the third quarter, while ancillary revenue per passenger increased by 8.6%. The new application is expected to provide another channel for customers to manage their journey and purchase additional services.

Finnair carried 3.5 million passengers in the quarter, up 7% year on year, while revenue rose 14.2% to €953.2 million. The comparable operating result reached €84 million, compared with €50.7 million a year earlier. The app rollout will continue through November, so its full customer availability remains a planned objective rather than a completed launch.
