Air New Zealand will add seasonal nonstop services from Christchurch to Singapore, Tokyo Narita and Perth, expanding the South Island gateway’s international network. The Singapore route will launch on 28 October with three weekly Boeing 787-9 flights, followed by Tokyo Narita on 28 November and Perth on 30 November. The new services will provide direct access to key Asian and Australian markets without requiring connections through Auckland.
The Singapore operation is scheduled to run until 26 March 2027, with 34,300 seats planned for the season. Tokyo Narita will operate until 8 May 2027, while the Perth service is scheduled to continue until 7 May. Each route is planned at three flights per week using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The Perth launch will coincide with Jetstar’s seasonal Christchurch service, giving the route approximately 55,000 combined seats between the two carriers during the 2026–27 season. Air New Zealand’s three new routes are expected to add more than 92,000 seats to Christchurch’s international network. The schedule remains subject to regulatory approvals and operational changes.
