The Capital Group Companies has reduced its disclosed voting-rights position in Lufthansa to 5.03% from 5.30%, remaining above the German reporting threshold despite a decline in its direct share-based holding below 5%. The Los Angeles-based investment group crossed the relevant threshold on 19 October, with the position comprising 4.88% from shares and 0.15% through instruments linked to securities-lending return claims.
The latest disclosure covers 58,618,786 voting rights against Lufthansa’s total of 1,202,082,895 voting rights. The share-based position compares with 5.06% in the previous notification, while the instrument position fell from 0.24%. The reduction therefore represents a modest adjustment rather than a full exit from Lufthansa’s shareholder register.
Capital Research and Management Company, part of the Capital Group structure, is attributed 4.58% of Lufthansa’s voting rights. EUPAC Fund is identified as a shareholder holding at least 3%. The disclosure does not specify whether the change resulted from open-market sales, securities lending or another mechanism, and provides no transaction price or commercial rationale for the reduction.
