Bangkok Airways’ reported five-star governance rating remains unverified

Bangkok Airways has reportedly received a five-star “Excellent” rating in the Thai Institute of Directors’ 2026 Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies, an assessment of governance rather than passenger service. However, the result could not be confirmed against the airline’s available investor information: its website continues to list a four-star “Very Good” rating, leaving the reported upgrade unverified.

The IOD assessment covers areas including transparency, accountability, business ethics and engagement with stakeholders. The report is supported by Thailand’s Stock Exchange and securities regulator. Bangkok Airways president Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth was quoted as saying the airline would continue developing its governance standards, including consideration of social and environmental factors.

The airline’s investor materials list a four-star rating from the IOD, including on pages updated in October and November 2026. The IOD’s website confirms that a 2026 report exists, but the accessible results did not show Bangkok Airways’ individual score. The five-star result therefore remains unresolved pending confirmation from the full report.
