Xiamen Air picks Altitude for Heathrow 787 maintenance

Dublin-based Altitude Engineering has signed a long-term agreement with Xiamen Air to provide scheduled line maintenance for the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner operations at London Heathrow Airport. The work will support Xiamen Air’s new London-Xiamen service, which begins in September 2026, with Altitude handling routine line checks and defect rectification for the 787 fleet.

The deal adds third-party maintenance support at one of Europe’s busiest hubs as Xiamen Air expands long-haul operations into the London market. Heathrow will serve as the operational base for the new route’s technical support, with the 787 emerging as the aircraft type tied to the carrier’s intercontinental schedule.

Altitude has positioned itself as an independent line maintenance provider across Europe and the Middle East, with Boeing 787 capability listed among its approved services. The agreement extends that footprint into a new airline partnership linked directly to route launch timing rather than a standalone maintenance campaign.
