Valencia Airport traffic rises 8.7% in first eight months of 2026

Aena has reported that Valencia Airport handled 8,610,816 passengers in the first eight months of 2026, up 8.7% from the same period a year earlier. The figures underline sustained demand at the Spanish airport and add to a strong summer performance across Aena’s network, with Valencia also posting double-digit growth in August.

International traffic remained the main driver of growth at the airport, which serves one of Spain’s busiest regional markets. The broader Aena network also continued to expand over the January-to-August period, reflecting robust passenger demand across Spanish airports during the summer peak.

Valencia’s performance fits a wider pattern across Aena’s Spanish airports, where August traffic rose year on year and several leisure-focused gateways recorded solid gains. The airport’s cumulative result for the year to August points to continued momentum in both domestic and international travel through eastern Spain.
