United to pipe live football to Starlink-enabled seatback screens via DISH deal

United Airlines will bring live professional and college football to Starlink-enabled seatback screens on domestic flights through a new agreement with DISH, starting this week and running through the Super Bowl in February 2027. The service will use DISH’s OnStream platform and carry live channels including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2, NFL Network and TNF on Prime Video.

The rollout covers more than 200 mainline aircraft now, with nearly 700 expected by February as Starlink installation continues across the fleet. United has already activated Starlink on more than 560 United mainline and United Express aircraft, carrying more than 31 million passengers so far.

The live football package will be available free to MileagePlus members in every class of service on domestic United flights. United’s expansion of seatback live TV comes as the airline scales its premium connectivity offering and extends inflight entertainment beyond personal devices.
