Turning Rock Partners and AerFin Limited have completed a second asset-backed aviation financing secured by three Airbus A220 aircraft, with Investec Aviation Finance providing debt financing for the transaction. The New York-dated deal extends the partnership between the two firms and keeps the aircraft in service temporarily before their engines move into long-term lease arrangements and the airframes are dismantled.
AerFin, a global aftermarket solutions provider focused on aircraft and engine parts, is using the structure to capture value from aircraft entering transition or end-of-life phases. The financing ties aircraft collateral to a recovery strategy that combines short-term operation, engine leasing and parts extraction.
The transaction comes as aircraft-backed financing continues to attract capital in the aviation sector, particularly where asset recovery and aftermarket monetisation can support repayment structures. The second deal between Turning Rock Partners and AerFin also underlines the role of specialist financiers in transactions built around asset utilisation rather than conventional fleet growth.
