Turkish Airlines has removed Leipzig/Halle from its future flight programme, putting the Istanbul service on hold for the foreseeable future. The German airport is among 11 destinations that have disappeared from the carrier’s booking horizon, alongside points including Billund, Ferghana, Kirkuk, Najaf and Turkistan.
The schedule change shifts Leipzig/Halle from a temporary suspension to what now appears to be a longer-term withdrawal from Turkish Airlines’ near-term network plans. Routes that had previously been expected to return in winter 2026/27 or summer 2027 no longer show a comeback date, reducing the airport’s direct link to Istanbul and the wider connecting network beyond.
The move forms part of a broader timetable revision affecting several suspended services across Europe, Africa and Central Asia. Turkish Airlines has not provided a public explanation for the latest filing change, leaving the strongest confirmed detail as the removal from the forward schedule rather than a formal route cancellation statement.
