Thales has opened a new Flight Safety Center on its Bordeaux campus, creating an immersive training space for civil and military aviation safety. The facility is designed for employees, customers, partners, suppliers, authorities and experts, and forms part of a wider effort to deepen flight-safety awareness across the group’s aviation businesses.
The centre offers interactive applications, technology demonstrations and operational case studies covering the full lifecycle of aeronautical systems. Thales plans to use the venue to train its 21,000 civil and military aviation employees worldwide on flight-safety issues. The Bordeaux opening is intended as the first step in a broader rollout to other strategic sites, indicating an internal training network rather than a standalone exhibition space.
The launch comes as aviation groups continue to focus on safety culture after years of disruption and workforce turnover. Thales’ aviation technologies are widely used in civil and military aviation, and the new centre puts safety training closer to the company’s engineering and systems activities in Mérignac, near Bordeaux.
