Textron Aviation has rolled out the 500th Cessna Citation Latitude from its Wichita, Kansas manufacturing facility, marking a production milestone for the midsize business jet on Tuesday. The company describes the Latitude as the world’s best-selling midsize business jet and ties the achievement to sustained demand for the aircraft and to the workforce that builds it.
The Citation Latitude entered service in 2015 and has since become one of Textron Aviation’s most established business jet programmes. The aircraft is designed around a stand-up, flat-floor cabin with six feet of height and seating for up to nine passengers. Textron also lists a maximum cruise speed of 446 ktas, a four-passenger range of 2,700 nautical miles and a full-fuel payload of 1,000 pounds.
The 500-aircraft milestone underscores the size of the global Latitude fleet more than a decade after entry into service. Available information does not identify the tail number, customer or delivery timing for the 500th aircraft.
