Sydney Airport to welcome EgyptAir with Cairo service via Singapore in 2027

Sydney Airport is set to add EgyptAir as its newest carrier in 2027, with plans for a Cairo service via Singapore using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The one-stop route would give Sydney its first direct link to Cairo, subject to regulatory approval and commercial and slot arrangements, while expanding the airport’s long-haul network to a record 54 airlines.

The proposed operation would restore EgyptAir’s presence in Australia after it last served Sydney in 2002. It would also create a same-plane connection between North Africa and Australia, opening additional one-stop access to Egypt, Africa, the Middle East and Europe for travellers from Sydney.

EgyptAir has not yet published schedules, frequencies, ticket sales timing or an exact launch date. The airline’s A350-900 is expected to handle the route, but final operating details remain to be confirmed before the service can begin.
