SpaceX launched SES’s O3b mPOWER-F mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Sunday, sending the final three satellites in the second-generation broadband constellation into medium Earth orbit. The Falcon 9 lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 at 2:49 p.m. local time with satellites 11, 12 and 13 aboard, completing the 13-spacecraft network for SES and Boeing.
The satellites were built by Boeing and are designed to support high-performance connectivity services ranging from tens of Mbps to multiple Gbps. SES expects the spacecraft to enter commercial service by mid-2027 after orbit-raising manoeuvres, checkout and commissioning. SpaceX described the flight as its 700th Falcon rocket launch, highlighting the company’s launch tempo as it continues to expand commercial and institutional missions.
