SKY Airline has signed an interline agreement with Qantas Airways that for the first time links its South American network with travellers from Oceania via Santiago. The deal lets Qantas customers book a single itinerary across both airlines, with one check-in and checked baggage through to the final destination, while opening access to destinations in Chile, Peru, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.
The agreement covers routes to Lima, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Florianópolis, Montevideo and multiple cities within Chile. It also gives Qantas passengers a simpler way to connect onto SKY-operated services through the Chilean capital, strengthening Santiago’s role as a transfer point between the two regions.
Julio Solar, SKY’s route and alliances executive, described the partnership as an important step in reaching Oceanian travellers and expanding the airline’s strategic market presence. Qantas customers can already buy itineraries that combine flights from both carriers, giving SKY a commercial entry point into the Australian and wider Oceanian market without operating long-haul services itself.
