Signature Aviation has expanded its footprint at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles by purchasing Castle & Cooke Aviation’s FBO and rebranding the facility as VNY North. The deal gives Signature a larger presence at one of the world’s key business aviation gateways and adds capacity at the airport, where it already operated two FBOs.
The acquired site was originally designed as a private corporate complex and includes a 1,500-square-foot passenger lounge, 21,000 square feet of office space, 4,236 square feet of shop space and 117,360 square feet of hangar space. With the addition of the new facility, Signature’s total aircraft shelter at the Los Angeles-area gateway rises to 483,000 square feet.
Signature chief executive Tony Lefebvre described the Van Nuys market as strategically important in the report. The transaction covers only the KVNY facility and does not include Castle & Cooke Aviation’s remaining FBO at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu.
