RTX names Jill Albertelli president of Pratt & Whitney

RTX has appointed Jill Albertelli president of Pratt & Whitney, effective 1 January 2027, as the engine maker prepares for a leadership handover from Shane Eddy. Albertelli will report to RTX chairman and chief executive Chris Calio and takes over at a time when Pratt & Whitney is managing both its military and commercial engine operations, including the F-35 propulsion programme.

Albertelli is currently president of Pratt & Whitney Military Engines, giving the business an internal succession at the top. Eddy will retire but remain as a special adviser through March 2027 to support the transition. RTX described Albertelli’s background as spanning engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, supply chain, commercial programmes, sales, maintenance repair operations, transformation and strategy.

The company highlighted her role in strengthening Pratt & Whitney’s position on the F-35, improving F135 delivery and quality, and expanding sustainment capacity for military customers. Albertelli holds engineering and MBA degrees from Boston University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
