Pratt & Whitney invests US$100m in Rzeszów plant

Pratt & Whitney has begun construction of a US$100 million facility at its Rzeszów campus in Poland, expanding production of critical rotating components for GTF commercial engines and F135 and F100 military engines. The 6,500-square-metre building is scheduled to become operational in 2028 and is expected to create more than 120 jobs as the RTX business responds to rising global demand for engine components.

The facility will add advanced manufacturing capacity to a site that already produces components for commercial and military engines, turboprops and auxiliary power units. Existing output includes GTF fan-drive gear systems, F100 static structures and F135 components used by the F-35 fighter aircraft.

The new operation will support highly stressed rotating parts for GTF-powered Airbus-family aircraft as well as military applications. The investment is valued at 375 million zlotys and complements a separate US$200 million RTX project in Columbus, Indiana. Together, the projects are intended to expand the group’s global capacity for critical engine components.

Rzeszów’s expansion follows the investment’s initial announcement earlier in 2026 and is part of Pratt & Whitney’s broader effort to strengthen advanced manufacturing in Poland.
