Open Cosmos has raised €300 million to expand satellite production and speed up its intelligence and connectivity services. The European satellite manufacturer plans to use the financing to increase mass manufacturing capacity across its network and further develop its OpenConstellation, ConnectedCosmos and DataCosmos product lines.
The round was led by European investors and included Lightrock, ETF Partners, the Institut Català de Finances, Entrepreneurs First, Convex Group, Phoenix Court and Claret Capital Partners, alongside the UK’s National Security Strategic Investment Fund and two large international pension funds. Open Cosmos operates four factories in the UK, Spain, Portugal and Greece, with a combined capacity of one satellite per day.
Founded by Rafel Jordà, the company has built a business spanning satellite manufacturing, connectivity and data services, with operations across Europe and a Spanish headquarters in Barcelona. Open Cosmos has signed more than $370 million in contracts over the past three and a half years and has posted five consecutive years of profitable growth.
