Ontic has acquired SIRS Navigation, a Kent-based specialist in precision standby magnetic compasses for aviation, expanding its portfolio with a business whose products serve commercial aircraft and rotorcraft. The deal brings proprietary compass products and an established global customer base into Ontic’s aerospace platform.
SIRS Navigation has designed, manufactured and supported aviation magnetic compasses for more than 60 years from its base in Meopham, Kent. Ontic framed the transaction as part of a wider strategy to invest in specialist aerospace businesses with strong intellectual property and established presence across aircraft platforms.
The acquisition strengthens Ontic’s position in civil and military aviation by adding a niche supplier with long-standing platform reach. No transaction value, integration timetable or other financial terms were disclosed.
