NBAA taps Dan Hubbard to lead interim operations as Bolen seeks medical treatment

The National Business Aviation Association has named longtime communications chief Dan Hubbard to handle day-to-day leadership while president and chief executive Ed Bolen steps away for medical treatment. The interim handover comes as NBAA-BACE approaches in Las Vegas, giving the trade group a rapid continuity shift at one of the busiest points in the business aviation calendar.

Hubbard, NBAA’s senior vice president for communications, moves into the top operational role from within the organisation rather than through an external search. The board of directors made the appointment to preserve leadership continuity while Bolen focuses on treatment, with no details disclosed on his condition.

The transition places oversight of NBAA’s public messaging and event planning in experienced internal hands at a sensitive time for the association and its annual convention. NBAA-BACE remains a key gathering for manufacturers, operators, suppliers and other business aviation stakeholders, making stable leadership particularly important in the run-up to the event.
