Mountain Home F-15Es Rotate Home via RAF Lakenheath with New Nose Art

Twelve F-15E Strike Eagles from Mountain Home Air Force Base transited RAF Lakenheath on 16 September while heading back to the United States after a Middle East deployment that began in March. The aircraft, part of the 366th Fighter Wing’s “MO” community, stood out for a fresh set of nose art featuring pop-culture references including Star Wars, Marvel, Austin Powers, The Terminator, DC and WWE’s The Undertaker.

The stopover at the Suffolk base provided a visual confirmation of the return leg after operational service in the region. Individual jets carried names such as “Thanos,” “Darth Maul” and “Undertaker,” alongside mission markings linked to their deployment. The theme follows a familiar pattern within the 366th Fighter Wing, where nose art has repeatedly blended unit identity with humour and public-facing imagery on combat aircraft.
