Mint Turbines wins Pratt & Whitney Canada overhaul designation for PT6 engines

Mint Turbines has become a Pratt & Whitney Canada designated overhaul facility for PT6A and PT6T engines, expanding the Stroud, Oklahoma-based MRO provider’s OEM-authorised repair capabilities for widely used turboprop and turboshaft powerplants. The designation gives operators access to overhaul support backed by Pratt & Whitney Canada approval, broadening service options for PT6-family engine maintenance.

The new status adds to Mint Turbines’ existing portfolio of manufacturer approvals and strengthens its position in turbine engine maintenance, repair and overhaul. PT6 engines are installed across a large fleet of regional, utility and special-mission aircraft, making additional authorised shop capacity relevant to operators seeking approved support and continuity of service.

Mint Turbines’ approved scope now covers PT6A and PT6T overhaul work under Pratt & Whitney Canada’s requirements for quality systems, technical capability and regulatory compliance. The company also operates field service and customer support functions, while the broader approval base includes other OEM relationships through its sister company Airborne Engines in Canada.
