Luxair has pushed back its planned Dubai service until 6 February 2027 and delayed Abu Dhabi flights to late 2027, after citing regional geopolitical tensions. The Luxembourg carrier’s Gulf expansion was due to start earlier, but passengers booked on the affected routes will now face refund or rebooking options as the airline resets its UAE schedule.
Chief executive Gilles Feith confirmed the change on Monday, with Dubai moving back by about four months and Abu Dhabi, originally planned for October, slipping by at least a year. The decision affects Luxair’s long-haul leisure push into the Middle East, where demand had supported the planned launches but current conditions have prompted a pause.
Customers affected by the postponements are due to be contacted from Tuesday. Luxair has not disclosed a revised timetable beyond the new February 2027 start for Dubai and a late-2027 target for Abu Dhabi.
