Lockheed Martin has posted a teaser video that appears to point to a forthcoming update on Vectis, the Skunk Works Group 5 Collaborative Combat Aircraft. The short clip shows a shadowy aircraft silhouette and carries the caption “Next level unlocked. More to come,” but the company has not yet identified what the next announcement will cover.
The teaser surfaced on 12 September and was reported the same day, with the silhouette closely matching public Vectis imagery. Vectis was unveiled publicly in September 2025 as an internal-funded Skunk Works CCA effort, and a prototype is believed to be under development with first flight targeted for 2027.
The timing matters because collaborative combat aircraft remain a central focus across the defence aviation sector, where rivals are pursuing similar autonomous platforms. Any new Lockheed update could sharpen the company’s position in a fast-moving competition for future unmanned combat-aircraft programmes.
