Lockheed Martin connects F-35 crews across multiple bases in live mission rehearsal

Lockheed Martin has linked F-35 crews at several US and overseas bases in a two-hour live mission rehearsal that used its tactical environment simulation to replicate a multidomain training scenario. The event brought together 16 F-35 full mission simulators from Marine Corps Air Stations Yuma, Miramar and Iwakuni, Naval Air Station Lemoore, plus F-18 simulators and an E-2D Hawkeye controller from Naval Air Station Oceana.

The exercise connected geographically separated locations into a single command-and-control environment while maintaining uninterrupted situational awareness and data exchange throughout the mission. The scenario covered an air-surface-cyber fight and was designed to test how crews coordinate across platforms and bases under realistic conditions.

Ken Garrett, vice president of F-35 Training and Logistics, framed the rehearsal as a test of readiness and interoperability across the wider training enterprise. Lockheed Martin said the event met all training objectives and demonstrated that crews can rehearse complex missions without being in the same physical location.
